I'm having such a busy summer-- only one weekend between June and October without a wedding. So I took my one opportunity to go away on a little mini vacation to my favorite Hawaiian Island, Kauai. Two days in a row I saw this boy jumping off Hanalei Pier. I took lots of photos of him.
I spent a week surfing, swimming, eating sugarloaf pineapple and ahi poke, and I took photos of this kid.
When I first saw him jump I thought surely he was going to hit the concrete pier and I was going to witness a gory death, but that didn't happen. He jumped again and again. He looked like a dancer in the air.
This is the kind of thing that makes me want to move to Hawaii and spend all my time in the ocean. |

I just got back from one of my favorite places in the world-- Hanalei Bay on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
Here is a photo of the Hanalei pier. I also took a bunch of photos of a boy jumping from the pier. I'll post those tomorrow.

First Apple, now Canon. I'm happy that they licensed one of my favorite shots of kids in their web campaign and TiVo commercials. Here are the sons of one of my favorite clients in an ad for a Canon camera. I don't have a TiVo myself, but apparently millions of people do-- let me know if you are one of them and if you've seen this ad, because I haven't been able to catch it.
FYI, I did not shoot the photo with this little red camera, although I did use a Canon! That was actually one of the conditions of the license-- they specifically wanted a photo shot with a Canon. |

Smashing Magazine, a premier magazine for design professionals, has come out with a list of 35 beautiful photographers' websites. I am so honored to have my website up there with some of the most sought after commercial photographers in the country, like Vince Laforet, Chase Jarvis, Steve McCurry, and Jill Greenberg. And I'm so happy that my friend Amy Deputy is on there too.
Here's a link to the full list.
