It's taken me 3 weeks to write this, it's been so hard. On May 15, I lost my dear cat Vashti who has been with me for 15 years, basically stuck to me like velcro since she was 12 weeks old. Everybody knows me as a dog person but Vashti was a constant presence who slept on my neck every night and sat on my lap all day long. If you've been to my house she probably sat on you, too. She was my baby.
She died of pneumonia and sepsis only three weeks after our Great Dane, Venus died (see here). So, it's been a hard few weeks.
Here is a painting of Vashti by the very talented Josh Powell. Josh, we are so thankful for this painting, you really captured her personality!
